Waste is separated at source and the bins are clearly labelled at the facility. Organic waste is given off to local pig farmers on a weekly basis.
The facility plays a major role in the conservation of elephants through the Amboseli Trust for Elephants which carries out ecological monitoring of the ecosystem, for the benefit of the
Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge practices energy conservation, waste recycling, and sustainable sewage management. Its Environmental Management System (EMS) focuses on water, energy, and waste, with annual audits following local regulations.
