Big Cat Safaris

Big Cat Safaris

Follow lions, leopards and cheetahs through some of Kenya’s most wildlife-rich private conservancies, guided by Maasai trackers who know these animals and this land intimately. This 8-day journey takes you from Nairobi through the Amboseli ecosystem, Ol Pejeta and the Maasai Mara – exploring by day, after dark, and on foot, far from the vehicle crowds that define so many safaris.

The route visits two of less than 10 sites in Africa currently listed on the IUCN Green List: Ol Pejeta and Ol Kinyei – the latter home to the highest recorded lion density in the entire Mara ecosystem. Along the way, guests track big cats by day, join spotlight night drives unavailable in national parks, and set out on guided walks that bring Kenya’s wilderness into far sharper focus than a vehicle window ever could.

Every night is spent at an intimate, Gold Eco-rated Porini Camp, where guest numbers are deliberately kept low and each tent helps protect a minimum of 700 acres of wildlife habitat. Tourism revenue here flows directly to the Maasai communities who own and safeguard this land – meaning every guest isn’t just witnessing conservation, but funding it.

This is more than an exceptional big-cat safari. It’s four conservancies, three big cats, and one journey that helps secure both a future for Kenya’s wildlife and a livelihood for the people protecting it.
